French companies are going to invest $5.6bn in South Africa Unconventional Energy

French companies are going to invest $5.6bn in energy and transportation projects in South Africa, French President Francois Hollande has said during a visit to South Africa’s capital Pretoria. 
 
GDF Suez is going to build a solar and a thermal power stations. Investment in the two projects is estimated at EUR 1.6bn. Also, Alstom is going to deliver 3,500 freight cars worth EUR 4bn. Most of the cars will be assembled in South Africa.
